Our products are designed to replace single-use disposable items, such as tissue or paper napkins, with reusable, adorable cloths that can be used over and over again.

We source 100% organic cotton made in a fair trade facility in India, cut, sew and print each item in the USA and use eco-friendly, non-toxic inks for our illustrations.

Behind the Name: Why Lime Green Monkey?
Lime Green Monkey lets you know we are not only green, but Bright Green, from our organic fabrics and water based eco-friendly inks, all the way down to our labels printed with soy ink on recycled paper in a wind powered facility. We consider environmental impact in every step we take. But we don’t take ourselves too seriously either. How can you when there’s a little monkey running around?

Lime Green Monkey is now offering Snot Couture™, a line of 100% organic cotton adult handkerchiefs with playful designs. Other daily use cloths will be added to our organic collection as we expand.

History
One day, there was a debate between an American woman and her European husband. The man said, “You say you want to live as sustainably as possible. You use alternative transportation, you buy your groceries at the farmer’s market, you recycle. But just look at all that tissue in the bin. Why don’t you use a handkerchief?”

“Are you kidding me?” She sniffled. But as the cold she had acquired from their toddler persisted, and the mound of single use tissues with a one-way ticket to the landfill piled higher in her bin, the woman began to think about all the trees it must take to make boxes of tissue. And soon she found herself thinking “What IF?” And what about my toddler? Talk about a little Snottykin!

So, she started making cloth handkerchiefs for her friends and family and discovered there was not only an interest, but a great need. She also discovered the many problems of disposable paper products, and why cloth was a viable and timely option. And that is how Snottykins and Lime Green Monkey came into being. And because the health of the environment is so important to everyone’s well being, Lime Green Monkey is committed to using organic cotton fabric made in fair trade facilities, and printing our child-friendly illustrations with eco-friendly ink.
